The November 5 update, in context

NVIDIA’s November 5 GeForce NOW post says DLSS 5 with 3D-Guided Neural Rendering arrives in Hogwarts Legacy today. Its earlier November 3 announcement lists supported local hardware and an in-game Neural Rendering option. This guide explains those published requirements. We have not installed the update or benchmarked the game, so the availability statement is attributed to NVIDIA rather than presented as our own test.

Local play: the rendering hardware matters

NVIDIA’s announcement names GeForce RTX 50 Series desktop and laptop GPUs and RTX Spark PCs for this feature. It instructs players to download the game update, then activate Neural Rendering in the game’s options. It also points to the Game Ready Driver scheduled for November 4 through the NVIDIA app. Check your exact GPU, installed game update and official driver information separately. Owning the game, seeing another DLSS setting or owning a laptop does not by itself establish that this particular feature is supported.

Cloud play: your device is not the rendering machine

NVIDIA separately lists GeForce NOW Ultimate. Its November 5 post describes streaming the updated game to supported devices including PCs and Macs, with the cloud service handling game installation and updates. That is a different route from running the game on your own GPU. A Mac appearing in a streaming-device list does not mean it has become a native RTX 50 gaming PC. Before paying for anything, check the service’s current regional availability, supported game-store connection and membership requirements. This article is not a guarantee of access in every country.

Compare the feature, not just the DLSS label

NVIDIA describes Neural Rendering as changing lighting and material appearance, with developer controls used to preserve the game’s artistic intent. The same game also supports other DLSS technologies, including Ray Reconstruction and Multi Frame Generation. Treat these as separate settings and claims. A frame-rate chart or a screenshot of a different DLSS control does not answer whether Neural Rendering is active. Likewise, a vendor’s AI-model speed comparison should not be read as a promise that your entire game runs that much faster.

A useful check if the option is missing

First decide whether you are using local installation or cloud streaming. For local play, compare the hardware and updates with the official announcement before following a guide written for a different GPU generation. For cloud play, verify that you launched the supported service version under the relevant membership. Record your game version and exact device when asking support for help. These are source-based checks, not a tested fix for every missing-menu problem. Our contextual computer photograph shows neither the game menu nor proof of a compatible local GPU.
